Understanding the NDIS – for carers

Online Zoom
Virtual Event Virtual Event

This workshop will help you to better understand the NDIS and maximise your success in securing and managing funding for the child/ren in your care.

One of the highlights of this workshop is gaining inside information about how decisions are made in the NDIS. You'll gain insights into how disability is defined, understand the evidence that influences decisions, and learn the best language to use for optimal outcomes. We'll even provide you with templates and tools to gather information and effectively communicate the needs of your child/ren to NDIS decision makers.

These workshops have been presented to over 2,500 people since 2018. They have all been co-delivered by Mark Ryan from the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, together with a member of the education team at the Association for Children with a Disability. The presenters bring many years of lived experience as carers of young people with disability, and as advocates in the disability arena

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
