Expression of Interest for 2020 Accredited Training Scholarships now open!

Dear Statutory Kinship and Accredited Foster Carers,

We are excited to announce that expressions of interest are now open for the 2020 Carer KaFÉ Accredited Training Scholarship for Term 1!

The scholarship will fund recipients to undertake one accredited unit of study that is relevant to the caring role at a University or Registered Training Organisation in the first term of 2020. You can take a single unit as standalone or as part of a recognised certificate, diploma or even a degree!

Accredited training differs from the free non-accredited training sessions already provided by Carer KaFÉ as it incurrs a cost, and students are required to complete formal assessment. Previous scholarship recipients found online training to be the most suitable form of delivery, but you are very welcome to choose face-to-face options.

Not sure what you want to study? Please see the table below with examples of units available. You are also very welcome to research options in your local area for us to consider. Check out the table below to understand what will be considered relevant to the carer role.

If you wish to submit an expression of interest, please submit the online form by end of day on Sunday 26th January. Having trouble completing the form? Call Gillian at Carer KaFE on (03) 9416 4292. We hope to inform all of those who submitted the form of the outcome by end of business on Friday 31st January.

Interested in studying for a TAFE certificate? You might be eligible for to study for free! Check out the Vic Gov website for more information. If you choose to take this path, please indicate so in the online form and, if your expression of interest is successful, Carer KaFE will provide funding to cover all material and incidental fees for the term.
