Hear carers discuss their personal experiences, including the ups and downs of supporting a child who cannot live safely at home. Whether you want to feel more prepared for your first placement, or are just after some reassurance that you’re not alone in your journey, we hope you listen and enjoy!

Tessa Hughes, Carer Information & Support Service Manager has been working for FCAV for the past 3 years and in the welfare sector for many years previously.
Ange, her husband and four children, now young people, are an experienced foster family. They have been caring for 6 years.
Andrea, as a single person with young people of her own living at home and living independently, is a long term carer.
Jen, her husband and two little ones have been a carer family for 5 years. Jen also works in the sector recruiting and supporting carers.
Katie Hooper, and her partner have been carers for years. With no children of their own they feel lucky to have children come into their home short term or on an emergency basis. Katie also worked at FCAV as the CEO for 10 years.
Sharon McRae, Senior Manager – Carer Recruitment and Retention at OzChild has worked in the field for 30 years.
Tiffany Vague has worked at Berry Street for the past two years, firstly, having managed a foster care program and currently, as an internal consultant for out-of-home care. Tiffany has recently completed her doctoral thesis exploring the lives of adults who spent time in out-of-home care as young people.
