Therapeutic Caring: Yarning about children with challenging behaviours and how to help them heal (Norlane) - POSTPONED
Want to learn more about the PACE model when applied to caring for a child who is Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander?
This culturally informed trauma-attachment training will assist carers to explore the reasons behind challenging behaviours. It also introduces foster and kinship carers to a therapeutic approach to parenting called PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy).
At this one day session you will learn;
- The reasons why children in care present with challenging behaviours
- Develop a culturally informed understanding of trauma and attachment
- PACE parenting- An everyday parenting approach that actually works!
- How to build strong healthy relationships with kids in your care and how to help them heal from trauma
- How to respond to difficult behaviours
