Do you want to learn more about how to increase secure attachments through play?

This training will introduce foster and kinship carers to parenting with Theraplay®. Theraplay® is relationship based approach that carers can use in the home to build and strengthen a secure attachment relationship with the child in care. The training provides opportunities to practice and learn practical tips and strategies to expand your parenting toolbox.

Carers will learn:

• What is Theraplay®
• To understand why play is especially important for a child's development
• To understand the four key parenting qualities (Structure, Engagement, Nurture and Challenge) used in Theraplay®
• Learn Theraplay® games that are fun and an easy way for carers to connect with children
• How to use play in everyday situations with children in your care to build a closer relationship
• How to use Theraplay® with sibling groups
