Grow your understanding on how LOOKOUT can support a child in your care with their education.

The LOOKOUT program was established in 2016 by the Department of Education & Training (DET) with an aim of improving the educational outcomes for Victorian school-age children in out-of-home-care.  In 2018 it was extended to pre-school with the introduction of Early Start Kindergarten. 

Come along and hear from LOOKOUT practitioners on:

• what your local LOOKOUT centre can do to support you as a carer
• the role of the school and designated teacher for a child in out-of-home-care
• advocating on behalf of a child for improving educational outcomes.

There will also be a chance ask questions and get advice.

Please note that Carer KaFE can cover the cost of babysitting while you attend a Carer KaFE training session.  You need to organise for an approved babysitter via your agency.  This needs to be organised and approved by Carer KaFE before the training session.
