Therapeutic Life Story Work International (TLSWi) and Berry Street are partnering to deliver the 2022 TLSWi Conference.  It is being held online from 29th June - 1st July. 

Richard Rose is a leading expert on Therapeutic Life Story Work (TLSW) and working with 'hard to reach' children and young people.

TLSW provides strategies for carers to support children in their care to recover from their traumatic pasts.

This includes:

• Helping children & young people learn to reflect on their past experiences in a more constructive way
• Enable them to develop compassion for themselves
• Tips for ‘moving on’ with their life with a positive outlook.

The Conference Program is rich in content and suitable to all levels of familiarity with the Therapeutic Life Story Work intervention. The Conference will highlight promising local and international practice, share current research, will present new techniques in assisting children and adults to recover from their traumatic pasts and share the lived experience of young people and their carers. 

Across the 3-days you will see a mix of keynotes, parallel presentations, hearing from young people with lived experience, research updates, local/international applications, creative tools and strategies as well as a panel discussion with practitioners from across the globe.

Carer KaFÉ has 100 delegate tickets for Statutory Kinship Carers, Accredited Foster Carers & Pemanent Carers to attend this virtual conference. Register your interest to go in the ballot for a ticket.

Eligibility:

• Carers must currently be either a Statutory Kinship Carer, Accredited Foster Carer or a Permanent Carer registered in Victoria.

Key dates:

• Closing date for registrations: Friday 10th June 2022.

Please note that Carer KaFÉ can cover the cost of babysitting while you attend this virtual conference.  You need to organise for an approved babysitter via your agency.  This needs to be organised and approved by Carer KaFÉ at least one week prior to the training session.
