Carer KaFÉ has limited delegate tickets to the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference (Online) Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st March
Carer KaFÉ is inviting Statutory Kinship Carers, Accredited Foster Carers & Permanent Carers to register their interest to go in the draw for a ticket to the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference (Online).
75% of mental disorders first emerge by the age of 14.
30% Almost one third of all 4–17 year olds experienced 2 or more mental disorders at some time in the previous 12 months.
591,000 Australian children and adolescents aged 4–17 years assessed as experiencing mental health disorders
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Conference is designed to provide practical skills, relevant information, personal insight, and strategies around adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
Over two days, the conference will explore topics including:
* Early intervention & prevention
* Service development including empowering children & young people
* Voice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
* The needs of a diverse community, identity & youth

All sessions will be recorded and made available five business days after the conclusion of the conference (excludes workshops).

Carer KaFE is offering a ticket for online sessions only. Agenda items highlighted in gold will be available online.
Please note that the conference sessions will run on AEST – Queensland time.
Eligibility:
- Carers must currently be either a Statutory Kinship Carer, Accredited Foster Carer or a Permanent Carer registered in Victoria.
- Priority will be given to carers who have not received a prior face to face conference ticket. This does not include carers who may have been fortunate enough to attend a Carer KaFÉ carer retreat.
Key dates:
- Closing date for registrations: Friday 10th March 2023.
- All eligible carers registered will go into a random number ballot. Selected carers will be notified on Tuesday 14th March 2023.
Please note Carer KaFÉ can support costs of babysitting while you attend this virtual conference if required. Please speak with your worker / agency to organise for an approved babysitter. Any quoted costs for this support needs to be approved by Carer KaFÉ two weeks prior to the event.
