BRAIN TO BRAIN – THE NEUROSCIENCE OF CALM, CONNECTION AND CO/SELF-REGULATION

Specialist topics

In this training, psychologist Karen Young from ‘Hey Sigmund’ will discuss the neuro-science of self-regulation as it relates to ourselves and others in our care. She will also discuss practical, science backed ways to gently collect ourselves to a greater place of calm in challenging, stressful times.

As a result of participation in this activity carers will:

  • Be more able to understand the origins of feelings and behaviour,
  • Support young people through challenging behaviour;
  • Understand their own state and the impact of this on the young people in their care;
  • Learn strategies to regulate and co-regulate.

The session is designed for kinship, foster and permanent carers.
