Belonging Matters: Supporting children and young people through bullying challenges

In this 2-hour session carers will explore:

     - Why children and young people engage in bullying behaviours

     - The relationship between a child or young person’s sense of belonging and bullying behaviour

     - The impact of bullying on the brain and on wellbeing

     - How to recognise signs a child may be experiencing bullying

     - Strategies carers can use to support a child or young person who is bullying others or who is being bullied.

     - Strategies carers can use to enhance a child’s sense of belonging in the home

     - Strategies carers can use to collaborate with educators and other professionals to prevent bullying and enhance wellbeing

Presented by Megan Corcoran, Director of the Wagtail Institute and trauma-informed wellbeing consultant. She is an experienced teacher, leader, university lecturer and workshop facilitator.
