Carer KaFÉ welcomes ongoing commitment from state budget!

Carer KaFÉ welcomes the commitment to our valuable carers with continued access to learning and development opportunities with the announcement of funding in the 2021-2022 Victorian State Budget.

Launched in April 2017, Carer KaFÉ’s current funding was due to end on 30 June 2021.  The new provision of ongoing funding for Carer KaFÉ recognises the importance of enhancing the carer experience by enabling them to better respond to vulnerable children and young people in their care. It also acknowledges the efforts and success of the Carer KaFÉ program to adapt in the midst of a pandemic and deliver relevant interactive online, and more recently, face to face training to over 700 carers since July 2020.

“To have ongoing funding for Carer KaFÉ is fantastic for carers and the expansion of the program to include permanent carers is also a positive step. Carer KaFÉ looks forward to engaging now and into the future with Victorian carers with quality training and educational resources as well as invitations to a variety of carer events such as retreats, camps and conferences.”

Paula White, Program Manager, Carer KaFÉ.

With the future now clear, Carer KaFÉ is excited to build on past achievements and, in the second-half of 2021 and beyond, bring carers a calendar of quality training sessions and events.
