National Foster and Kinship Care Conference 2019

Carer KaFE this year will be sending 6 lucky statutory kinship carers & accredited foster carers to the National Foster and Kinship Care Conference in Perth. The 2019 Conference will be hosted by the Foster Care Association in Western Australia and aims to provide an exciting and nurturing learning environment, acknowledging, and inspiring.
The conference is from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th September 2019 at the Rendezvouz Hotel in Perth.
What will be covered by Carer KaFE:
- Your conference ticket
- Flights to and from Perth
- Car transfer to and from airport in Perth
- Accommodation at the conference
- Reimbursment for meals during the conference
The theme this year is 'Walking Together’ and it aims to explore the current and emerging practises and experiences within the fostering system. There will be topics on the following:
- Voice of the Carer
- Voice of the Child
- Parenting in the 21st Century
- NDIS/Mental Health
- Differences between Family Placements and Non Family Placements
- Cultural planning
- Grandparent carer challenges
- Self care
