Fostering Resilience (Face to Face)
"It is easier to build strong children than repair broken men" ~ Frederic Douglas
Building on this quote, Fostering Resilience maintains that specific interventions can help to foster resilient behaviours and attitudes, leading to much better outcomes during and after the care experience. The session will provide an understanding of how the trauma of the care experience can impact children and young people, and how to counter these impacts by creating a Resilience Action Plan.
Topics to be addressed include:
- Positive psychology principles
- How carers can practice better self-care
- How to increase feelings of wellbeing
- How to encourage positive behaviors in young people
- How to promote positive mental health outcomes post COVID-19
Carers will leave feeling refreshed and equipped with practical tips they can put into practice right away.
