Let's Play Today! (Online) - EVENING SESSION

Foundations of care

Join us for this new three part series about the importance of active outdoor play & the therapeutic value of play for communication & relationships.  These sessions are being held ONLINE via Zoom from 8pm to 9.15pm

  • Tuesday 13th September 
  • Tuesday 20th September 
  • Wednesday 28th September 

Session 1 - Tuesday 13th September

  • The importance of play in early childhood development and its connection to ongoing wellbeing in older children
  • Play in relation to social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language development

Session 2 - Tuesday 20th September

  • The role of play in remedying trauma
  • How to provide valuable play opportunities in the home and in the immediate neighbourhood
  • The importance of essential connections to nature

Session 3 - Wednesday 28th September

  • The importance of risk-taking in play in the building of self-esteem and well-being
  • Strength based dispositions for lifelong learning

This is a three part program, it is encouraged that you attend all three sessions but it is not required that you attend all three. You will receive a certificate for the individual sessions you do attend.  You need to register for the whole program to attend any of the sessions.

Please note that Carer KaFÉ can cover the cost of babysitting while you attend a Carer KaFÉ training session.  You need to organise for an approved babysitter via your agency.  This needs to be organised and approved by Carer KaFÉ at least one week prior to the first session.
