Youth Mental Health – Indigenous Perspective

Join with AJ Williams-Tchen, a proud Wiradjuri Social Worker, Nurse & Youth Worker, Director of Girraway Ganyi Consultancy, nominee for Australian of the Year Victoria 2024 and winner of both the Social Worker of the Year 2023 (Allied Health Awards) and Aboriginal Social Worker of the Year 2021 (AASW Excellence Awards) as he discusses youth mental health from an Indigenous perspective.

This training will be valuable for all carers interested to learn more about youth mental health.

Topics will include:

• defining youth and adolescent mental health from an Indigenous perspective
• youth development & impacts mental health have on it
• stress and distress for young people
• signs to look out for
• good practices for supporting young people who are struggling with their mental health
• considerations when working and yarning with young people with neuro-divergencies
