Carer KaFE is offering you the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised Accredited Unit.

What you will learn:

  • To be able to work from a trauma informed care perspective
  • Utilise self-care strategies
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of trauma informed care in services
  • To demonstrate knowledge of legal and ethical considerations for trauma related practice and how these are applied in organisations and individual practice
  • Understand how common beliefs and attitudes towards people who experience interpersonal violence impacts on their access to services
  • Identify potential for and causes of re-traumatisation, in particular in accessingor receiving services

What you can expect:

  • Pre-reading can be accessed online and will need to be completed before the day of training
  • Babysitting in carers home can be arranged by Carer KaFE and organised via Case Management Agency
  • Parking or train travel to the CBD can be covered by Carer KaFE
  • Carers have 12 weeks to complete the course
  • 3 assessments are a mix of case studies and questions, one can be completed by keeping a journal
  • Or if you work in welfare at your workplace can be discussed with The Centre
